I'm not really sure, but I think the friends that have all these tops have a couple of completed quilts by her. It is kind of strange to have so many just tops (12). The only thing I can think is that maybe it was hard to get others together for the "bee" to finish them off into quilts. She didn't let that slow her down from making tops, though, she was quite prolific!

Wow Eddie, it's fascinating that the material has held up so well and of course your quilting is fabulous. It really hasn't been that long since you purchased your long arm has it? You have been doing wonderful work with it. Congratulations.

I like how you have merged the vintage with the new. It seems like the new material is a section of trellis overhanging on a beautifully restored vintage work of art, with a "oh so"
contemporary feel.

The quilt is lovely, and such nice work. The reds are so bright, I am wondering if they could possibly be "Turkey" reds? Given the quilters birth as 1843, and a life span of 93 years, it seems a possibility.
