So how did you do that? is there batting? I would think so, since the quilting stands out so nicely, but it still looks pretty thin. What's the trick?

Default My flea market table runner

Some of you asked me if there was batting and a binding on my vintage table runner. So here are a couple pictures of the back. I just used some old print that I had and I used Hobbs 80/20 batting. It's very thin. I thought since it was a table runner, it needed to Lay thin and flat. After it was quilted, I straight stitched all around the perimeter just inside the natural binding of the piece. Then I trimmed close to that stitching. Worked great. Hope I'm making sense!
Thanks for all the nice compliments. I love bringing vintage tablecloths, runners, etc. back to life. It makes antiquing much more fun! I have a quest!

That print seems in keeping with the table scarf you bought. I really love what your quilting does to the table scarf.
