I had this design in my head for awhile and decided to try it out. it is not even close to being finished yet and I have made alot of mistakes, but it has been a definate learning experience. I have done this on my own with no pattern. Any advice would be welcome. Now dont laugh. this is my very first project. I hope to perfect it later with similiar designs of fish tanks. excuse all the wrinkles. I had to pull it out of a box while looking for other fabric and figured Id take a pic of it while I was there. (stored for the holidays)

thank you. Its all applique. I traced the fish out of my goldfish book. still need eyes. LOL like I said its a work in progress. I will get frustrated with it and think I ruined it. I put it way and will come up with another idea and drag it out again. No telling when it will actually be done. I kinda cant wait till Christmas is over so I can get back to sewing.

What a great idea! Can't wait to see what you come up with for embellishments.

Might find some unusual beads for eyes and use some metallic threads to do some veins in the fins. I did something similar a few years ago and I love applique! Don't get discouraged, you are doing great!
