I love using photos and special fabrics to make memory quilts. You did a great job.

Your daughter is so fortunate that you made this quilt. She'll show it to her kids someday. Wonderful job.

I am continuing to evolve as a quilter and love your quilt. I wonder if you would share your tips for the photos to quilt process. What to do and not to do, what to use and not to use. How to preserve them, etc.
Anyone else have any tips?

Susie: with this quilt I used photo's from the newspaper. I had them emailed to me and I printed them on my copy scanner. I printed the photos onto the fabric on my copier at home. I used Printed Treasures printer fabric. I have found that the price is worth it. You can wash it and the thread count is 200. Just follow the instructions. After working with the quilt, I found that if I appliqued the photo's on to the quilt it came out better. This quilt has my daughter's letters and state championship badges which are heavy, so I appliqued those also. I machine quilted with monofilament thread. I used 1/4 inch black fusible bias tape to highlight the pictures. Hope this helps!
