Made using the technique from Cathy Geier's book. I used Vilene with a pre-printed grid to layout the squares. I moved the seagull as I wanted him looking into the quilt - he actually started life as a pied wagtail on a preprinted bird fabric - I cut him skinnier and coloured him with fabric crayons. The sun is gold tulle laid on with Misty Fuse and then FMQd with Superior gold metallic, Angelina fibres put some sparkle in the sea and the landscape, sky and water are all FMQd with topographical lines, waves, pebbles, rock shapes etc... It is 40" x 28". Thanks for looking. :-D

Beautiful! It is interesting how you changed it to create a more artistic quilt.

Oh my heavens am I impressed. Thank you for showing the original photo. That is wonderful. I noticed all that pebble quilting in that last photo. They look great in that area. I spent a long time looking at the photos. I was just so taken with the fabrics you used for the effects.

WOW, WONDERFUL. I keep looking at the photos too, you did a great job.

Now you have my creative juices flowing and thinking how I could make something like that for a challenge I have.

Thank you! As well as moving the gull on the post, I made the hills more hilly and the rocks more rocky. :)
