I got myself an embroidery machine last year (brother innovis 700E II) and started to play around with application embroidery designs. I loved the patches so much that I was looking for a way to use them up and this is what came around: first for Noah and then for Elia.
I got all about patching, sashing, basting and binding out of the net.

I convinced myself I could live without an embroidery machine. After seeing these quilts I'm not so sure. I love them both.

Those are so pretty. You did such a beautiful job with the sashings and quilting.

Having an emboridery machine is just as addictive and as expensive if not more than quilting. The threads, the stabilizers and of course the desgins and extra hoops etc. etc. etc.
It is fun. You did a great job with both of those quilts.

cant even tell how much all this input is cheering me up! Had an extremly lousy (birth)day........nobodys fault, just bad news. Nothing that wont get better, but sometime life sucks and then some nice words works wonders.
As for the expences: I just recetly quit smoking after 35 years............
