Here's an idea to add to your beach quilt: Fold it from edge to center, from both sides and then from top and bottom. Repeat if not yet small enough of a rectangle to "carry". Now mark along the edge of the sides opposite from the very last fold, and attach a "handle" on each edge. (Make a long rectangle, maybe 10 inches long, an inch wide, and sew each end of it through all the layers of your blanket.) Now you can carry it by the handles! (they will be on the underside of the blanket when you lay it out, and not bulky enough to bother you when you lay on it) My kids and I have worn out the one I made years ago -- maybe I should do a "makeover" on that one too!!!

Looks like fun! I must admit that I've given my fair share of "dirty looks" when I see people using a quilt in a place where it might get dirty - it's true though that they're made to be used! I hope the seagulls didn't use it for "target practice"!!!
