Both of those are great--the pink one looks old fashioned and the other one is very modern!

Very pretty quilt. striking in a great way.

I love the wedding variation because with the right fabrics it reminds me of a moroccan tile. and I love tile quilts

Your Anchors Away quilt is beautiful. I have not done a drunkards path, but there was one mentioned here on the board awhile back that used the dp to make a Clam Shell. Was very interesting.

Of the many I have seen, this is by far my favorite layout. Really beautiful. I am not usually a pink person but this speaks to me---volumns!

Very nice love the pink fabric. I love all that you can do so much with drunkards path. Love rings is one I am fond of.

I love the Drunkard's Path quilt block too. I do love what you have done and I would have to say that might be one of my favorites. Some I do not like, they can look rather weird, but you have a winner in my book.

Hmmm... the picture of the whole quilt was too big to load. I don't know why two pictures taken at the same time aren't the same size. In any event, this Drunkard's Path variation was called Safari and I chose it to showcase my Safari pictures. As you can see, I laid out the squares randomly, to portray the concept of traveling around Africa.

Also keep in mind that the effect of the block varies greatly not just with the layout, but with the relation of the curved piece to the background.

These are all the same size blocks - but the the visual is very different depending on the make up of the block.
The left twist is a favorite of mine for borders.
I really like the smoothness of the edges.
Again, the block size is irrelevant.
Most patterns that I see, though, use blocks that are similar to the one in the middle twist

You can see it here in a simple barn raising setting.
Again, blocks are all the same size.
Since the DR block has the same color distribution of a HST block, you can create any Log Cabin setting with the DR blocks.
