I have been wanting to make a denim quilt for a while now and I had no idea how I was going to do it. So I left the design up to a dear friend and told her that what ever she came up with that was what it was going to be!

She told me that it should be a mixture of cotton fabrics and the denim and we both had the idea of a Red and White Plaid fabric for the design. I was out thrift store shopping and found this pretty Red fabric that looked like something she would use and bought it, 6 yards for $2!! After I showed her the photo of the fabric I found she said that would be the exact kind of print that she would have picked!

She said that it had a picnic in the hay loft kinda feel to it and I will have to agree.

And this is what we came up with.......

The funny thing about it is that I cobbled a Singer 66 together from 3 parts machines and that is the machine I am using to make the quilt with. It sews through the denim like it is nothing at all and there are layered seams all in it.
