I'm so sorry for your poor little fingers, but the quilt is beautiful and the extra effort of doing the embroidery by hand is very special.
Yea, I was happy when I got my new sewing machine that does lettering, but I don't like the lettering it does :( It's better to take the time to do it by hand and be satisfied with the final product.

Okay, okay . . . I got the borders on the Bride's Tree wall hanging done today (took 2 trips for fabric, cut one strip too short  ), and the machine quilting is about 1/3 done. It's for a wedding gift for DD who doesn't have a date set yet, and it will be at least a year away . . . I am scheduled to sandwich "Unchained Melody" at church on Friday (it's for me so no deadline rush) . . . and "Star Bright" was just a fun thing I wanted to try, so no recipient or deadline for that one either. And for the record, I'm also working on some cross-stitch Advent ornaments for DGD as well as a bed shawl to coordinate with our new bed quilt.

It's called CADD (crafter's ADD), and looks like I'm not the only one enjoying it! :?

So since looking through this thread and realizing that I have nothing going on, I decided to try my first scrappy quilt. I busted out my bag of scraps, went to www.quiltville.com and dove in!

So far I've got all the peices cut, and two blocks sewn...here's a sample...

I have a picture in my head of what the quilt will look like done...but unfortunately I cannot download my picture from my brain so you're all stuck with this...lol

2 sampler class quilts. I have no idea how big they'll be.
1 blue star throw. Praying it doesn't rain as I need to hang it on the clothesline for sandwiching.
1 large makedo quilt for the bf.
2 dolls, 1 Santa, 1 treetop angel, 1 memorial angel, 1 stuffed wolf.

I feel like I'm forgetting something (or somethings).

Working on or procrastinating on what I'm doing: 1) a quilt (see avatar) for the master bed, 2) need to get xmas presents started, 6 handbags for the gals and I dunno for the guys, 3) t-shirt quilt for my son, and I dunno what else since I'm brain dead, lol

Can you explain this? What does hanging it on a clothesline have to do with sandwiching? Is this something I need to do? Thanks!
