about making pillows???? I saw it last week, and was so excited about trying my hand at it, and now I can't find that post!!!!

I have two blocks done right now, both 12.5" now (just over, actually - need to be squared up yet). I seem to remember that they should be 12" for a 12" pillow?

Here's a picture of one of them.

Hey!

That's a pretty stunning block.

Your block should be 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 for a 12 inch finished block.

best of luck and yes... we want to see pictures.

Oh looks like it would make a great tote bag too! Got any more of the fabric? I can always find more work for someone else. Sorry, but it WOULD!

Thanks, everyone!!!! Wouldn't you know it, I forgot to take "final" finished pics before I gave them to her. I will try to remember my camera next time I go see her. (My ex-MIL, by the way - she's a very dear friend, and today is her b-day!)

I ended up not being able to find 12" square pillows, but I got 14" square. So, I added a border a shade darker than the darkest blue already on the block, and then for the back side I made a 12" friendship star block with the same kind of border as the front. I was really pleased with the way they turned out! Especially for my first!!!
