I like your combination of embroidery and patchwork. The colors work very nicely together - and you didn't need tiny little squares!

I bought the pattern several years ago and have not gotten to it yet. I love it and I bet it looks so much better than the "ugly" you are hiding. The very neutral color of the blocks really makes the flowers pop.
