    Default Winter Solistice

Measures 12 inches square. Machine embroidery of star with sparkly thread. Used speciality thread in some of FMQ in sky. Pieced sky and mountain. Added tulle overlay before FMQ. Cabin was going to be a tree, but I cannot draw! Winged it and turned "tree" into little cabin. The frozen lake is silver lame and used fancy thread around edges. I tried to avoid it looking like a swimming pool, not sure that worked out. I got the shape of the trees by using cookie cutters, an idea from someone on board. Some elements worked, others, maybe not. Had fun messing around.

Don't you just love those little quilt squares? I have several patterns to make them for different months. Just haven't had the time. Hopefully I can do them soon. Great job !
