I am making this tiger quilt for my DGS. He was born in the year of the Tiger and at 7 months he growles.
As you can see it is almost square and I want it to be longer.
I know I could add another row but am looking for an out of the box idea.
I have seen so many great ideas and so many of you have come to the aide of others.
Please put on your thinking caps.
Thank you so very much for your help.

I love this quilt top, those tigers are awesome :D:D:D
Maybe a grass fabric border at the bottom and a sky fabric
at the top?

Quitling NaNa: I love this fabulous tiger quilt! I like the idea of blue on the top on a grassy print on the bottom. Or how about something like prarie points (spelling) but longer and thinner like its grasses? Not just the points? Time consumering but it could go fast once you get in rythym? Debbie (I spelled it wrong when I joined.)

Thank you for the ideas so far.
I am planning on putting boarders on all four sides using the same fabric as the sashings.
I do like the idea of the blue on top and grass on botton.
Are you saying to do that then put on the boarders??

Tigers also love water. Maybe see if you can get some fabric of Tigers playing in the water, and a jungle at the top and then border with wide sashings of the sashings between the tigers to tie it all in.

put them in a window frame that will make it bigger. then use your sashing. However I love it the way it is

To me, the sashing fabric already looks like jungle.

I really like this top. As much as I like the idea itself, I would be worried that adding a different green for grasses at the bottom and blue sky at the top will add clutter to both the colors and textures. For me, anyway, the best thing to do would be to add one more row of tigers and an inner border to match the sashing. If more size is wanted after that, then perhaps another border of cat paw prints or tiger-strip fabric.
