The ugly is already gone!! The blocks are great! I would try a light lime green or a yellow to offset the dark of the black background. Good luck !!

Call it a beauty "makeover". The blocks sure do look great, and I would have to go with the lime green, too. Keep us posted with your progress. Looks like your "ugly duckling" is going to become a swan.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder and this fabric makes beautiful OBW - to my eyes.

I would go with lime or bright orange or maybe even a royal blue....black is too hard to match up. One or more of the bright contrast colors will set them off. Looking forward to seeing more of this project.

Love your blocks, they look great. My first pick is orange, then green. I think they will get lost in the black.

How about using that lime green or a peach color like in the blocks. The blocks would not stand out as well done with black.

Your daughter is right...that is some of the ugliest fabric I've ever seen but you know, it's sort of funky and different, too. Enjoy working on it.
