Well I'm finaly getting a chance to do a quilt on my frame. I couln't deside what to quilt so tried some freemotion meandering. I think I got it too close together and too small a pattern. Thinking about tearing it all out so fustrated. Just doesn't look right to me. I took a few pick but not sure how well it will show up.

I drew the pattern on a roll of fax paper and then laid it on the frame the pattern is 4 ' wide

I can't really see the quilting but your quilt top is beautiful. I so want an embrodary machine. I'm sure that you are just being too hard on yourself I bet it looks great. Please show us a picture when you are done.

I love your embroidery work, your piecing and your stippling! I downloaded the picture of your quilting and I do not think that it is too small. I think you did a very good job of it! I looks nicely spaced and I cannot see a darned thing wrong! Are you being a little too self critical :) We are our worst critics :D I would proudly display this quilt, so you just fo ahead and finish it and send it on to me :mrgreen:

I, certainly, wouldn't tear all that work out. It looks like your batting is fairly thick and it doesn't look like it's too flat. I rather like close quilting. Is that hand or machine embroidering? Nice job.

The quilt is a gift for my Aunt. After my Mom passed away she has always been just a phone call away when I needed someone to talk to or just vent. When I was talking about wanting to try quilting she encourage me to do it.

I did double over the batting and it is machined embroider. I'm quilting close to the baskets then I jump over them to the other side. I definetaly don't want to quilt through them

I'm sure your Aunt will appreciate it so very much. She will be so pleased that you decided to quilt. I have an embroidery machine as well and thought about embroidering squares. Actually, it's probably a good thing that you are quilting very close. I have a handiquilter and I found that if I started a fairly large design, by the time I got the quilt half or three quarter rolled up, I didn't have the space to keep the design the same size.

Judging from the picture of what you drew I'd say it's just fine ceanna. I wish the pic of the quilt had come out more clear, but I bet it just beautiful. I like close quilting too. I don't think it can be too close as long as the quilt will still be flexible and soft. I sure wouldn't rip it all out. I've had to do that when I've made a mistake before (like accidentally letting the backing and batting fold under when I was zipping right along!! UGH!) and it's a nightmare to take that all out.

I'd sure love to see the quilt if you can get a clear picture! That's such a pretty quilt. :)

I would'nt tear it out, No It's pretty. The quilting will be fine. Some times we critisize ourselves to much. It's BEAUTIFUL. And the stippling will help it be more durable for use. Enjoy your MasterPiece

I sooo agree with everyone, don't tear it out (save that seam ripper for blocks) you've done a lovely job. I think it will definitely help with the double batting to hold everything in place and besides that IT'S BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, FANTABULOUS!!! Just keep working it, you'll love it!

As a long arm quilter, I think your quilting is great! By all means DO NOT tear out what you have done. Keep on slogging through and I bet you will surprise yourself with how you like the finished product. With the batting that you chose, I'm sure you needed to quilt it rather closely. Keep on stitching girl!
