That's a pretty big undertaking for your first quilt. It's lovely & you've done a great job. "Stippling" is done by hand or machine. Is the corner of the border your concern? You could place a square "cornerstone" in the corners or possibly 'top stitch' a small strip of the white fabric to complete the crossover in the corner. Or, love it & move on to #2 quilt. :-)

Very ambitious for a new quilter, you did a wonderful job and I am not seeing your mistake.

I do CC (continous curve) around the colored triangles to add to the movement of the design. Maybe echo inside the dark blue triangles. Not sure on the borders at the moment.

The borders aren't messed up! That's a design choice, girl.

What a lovely quilt! You have done really well for a first timer. The border may not be to your liking but I think that it is fine.

As for stipling, it is usually done on the machine though I can't see why you can't hand sew it? Maybe someone else on Quilting board can advise. I agree that that would be a nice quilting pattern to have. I have included 2 links for you:

Hope this helps and best of luck with the quilting! :D

Your quilt is absolutely beautiful. Do you have enough fabric left to add to the borders so you could mitre them? I think an allover stipple would be nice or maybe concentric circles. Job well done.!
