What a treasure, what a find!! give it a good home- it has a lot of hard work in it - it deserves to be it's own little masterpiece - it is lovely....

Great stitching. It looks like it was all hand sewn...
If one was a writer!.....and I wish I were! I'm intriqued with writing and I agree with you, this quilt could really have a story. It smells like it was stored in a cedar chest, so I have a feeling it was made some years ago and never used. I am airing it out on the line today and am going to use it on a crib I have in a nursery upstairs.

How could anyone throw out such a lovingly made quilt. Why wasn't it put away for the recipient to pass on to their children. I shouldn't judge as I don't know the story. Anyway I'm glad you found and saved it.

So Cute! I would have bought it too! Imagine where it has been, the time it took for some one to hand quilt it. Now its yours to love... A great precious fine. Who ever made it is happy that you now have it.
    Believe, it can be done!

It's so unique. Too bad that all quilts aren't treated like the treasures that they are. So glad you gave that beautiful work a good home.

i again feel i need to weigh in- i have made some pretty wonderful quilts to donate to goodwill, challenge mountain, the women's resource center- hoping someone who does not have alot of funds will find them & want to take them home & have something special-
just because it was found in a thrift store does not mean it was (thrown away) , neglected, un-appreciated,
i know i am not the only quilter out there who donates beautiful quilts to thrift stores on a fairly regular basis...i really never thought doing so would (induce) such negative opinions toward whom ever donated a (rescued) treasure. I donate them hoping the person who finds & buys it simply can not afford to shop elsewhere- but certainly deserves beautiful quality items to provide their families/babies/kids with.

Really? you think of charity as throwing away??
Seriously----you don't think charities deserve nice things??
i make beautiful- expensive- much appreciated quilts for a number of charitable organizations---and have never thought of (throwing them away) ... the recipients generally are thrilled to have the opportunity to have something so special...i really (thought) that quilters where notoriously Generous-giving people- i'm starting to think i was way wrong...

Oh I do wish that folks would put labels on their beautiful work. It was good of you to take it home.
