This was on display at a quilt show I attened today in Queensbury NY
It puts a face on death

That is so beautiful and touching. It just really moves me to look at it. I bet it was awesome to see in person.

this quilt titled Ground Zero was created by Lois Jarvis of Madison,WI There are 600 faces.

T he lone star patternwas used for it's likeness to a explosion. The outer border portrays the gray days after.
She felt compelled to make this even though she personally was not connected to anyone. She will not profit from this or sell it. She does allow it to be loaned for display

I wonder if I saw this at Quilt Market in Kansas City a few years ago. They had several quilts with that theme. Heartbreaking. :(
