Cool "X" Rated Quilting Fun!

I LOVE making X-Blocks quilts. You start with simple piecing such as a strip set or nine patch, then cut with the X-Blocks ruler to make the magic.

This pattern is called 'Thornton' and is a little more challenging than some of the simpler patterns, but it still wasn't difficult. You first make a small block using the BellyButton ruler. That becomes the center of the larger X-block, which uses a partial seam technique.

The leftovers get made into the table runner and a few placemats (I don't have photos of the placemats yet.)

Hope you enjoy looking.

Wow! I'm taking an X block class tomorrow and I like yours much better than the sample I saw. Could be a technique thing, but probably color choices are what make the difference. I like my colors - all strips cut and ready to go, so hope it turns out as nice as yours!

Wow, I love your quilt. It sounds interesting and might need to add it to my "someday" list to make.

There are lots of different X-Blocks patterns, Lynn. Which one are you doing? I'm sure it will be great - have fun in your class!
