All afternoon i kept looking at my finger saying "stupid, stupid, stupid" By 5:00 the throbing stopped enough for me to continue so here it is!!!!!! I'm so sorry about your finger. I too am proof that you can quilt with only 9 fingers. In 2006 I had a work accident and a saw blade took my right index finger. I have about an inch still there. I am even a receptionist that sits and types on a computer all day. I have gotten pretty fast at that too. So it is possible. I am so glad to hear that your finger is still there though. Here's to more quilting and be careful of the sergers they can be dangerous. :)
Blassings!

I got goose bumps reading of all the mishaps that others have had. I once got the tip of my middle finger nearly cut off by a sickle mower, used to cut hay for cattle. I ended up with 2 pins in the 2 bones of my finger, lots of stitches, a cast, and luckily, the finger looks pretty good, and I have great dexterity in it. The worst part of the whole ordeal, was that I worked in a bar, and the guys just thought it was a hoot, that my middle finger had a cast on it and I was giving everyone the finger. LOL

OMG! Sorry to hear that. So are you saying you lost one finger. My serger has a guard on it. It turned out to be a beautiful quilt.
