It's beautiful. I like the second picture. I think the applique brings a lot of color to the sides.

Thank you so much for all the kind words! I also appreciate all your opinions.

The pattern was in an older book (2001, I believe):
Great American Quilts
Book Eight
by Leisure Arts
Page 30

There were a bunch of these books ( a good 20 or so)& I am very grateful that I have the whole kit & kaboodle of them.

I modified the pattern somewhat because I wanted it to fit on a queen sized bed.I hand pieced the quilt & I will hand quilt it, my favorite way to do quilts.

Thanks again for your kind words. You always encourage me in my love of quilting.

Riley

The applique adds to the quilt. I really like that.

I love your quilt! You've done fantastic on it! I've always admired this pattern but have not attempted it yet...lol...don't know if I'll get around to it or not. Your applique is just stunning and adds another depth to an already beautiful quilt! :-D :-D

You did a beautiful job! I am working on a feathered star wall hanging, and I thought THAT was a tough job! My hat is off to you!

Love the whole thing. I think the applique adds a nice gentle line to the sides, without detracting from the stars. Beautifully worked and the colours are great - thanks for sharing.
