A while back, I posted pics of my Zipper Quilt top. Well, my mom has a Juki with a 10" harp mounted into a quilting frame, and she graciously offered to quilt this queen size top for me.

And she did such a great job. I chose a medium brown thread, as I wanted something that would show up on both the white and black squares. If I quilted with white thread, it would be invisible on the white squares and similarly for black thread on the black squares. I'm really happy with the colour and the groovy random meander pattern my Mom did is perfect for the modern style of the quilt.

photos below!

That came out great. I decorate modern too, so it's always nice to see these types of quilts!

Gorgeous. I also really like what you did with the wall behind your bed. Is it wall paper or a stencil? Hand painted?

Marjpf, the wall behind the bed is actually wall stickers from IKEA. They were cheap and come with a bunch of different branches and birds. You can put them up in any pattern. I just happened to build a tree!

quiltinggirl - I agree, the quilting makes it fabulous. There is no way i could have quilted it this nicely on my own. She keeps telling me I should show it at a quilt show, but I think it's as much her quilt as mine!
