I bought a walking foot to see if it would help with quilting. It's a generic one for my older brother machine. At the bottom of the package is a website "for product demonstrations" . Well, the website doesn't work. I got it on and it works great (even if it still didn't help with the quilting-don't think my machine can take the bulk) It did come with an extra piece. I have no idea what it is or what to do with it. :~) its a bar with a hook on one end. looks like it goes in a hole on the back of the walking foot. any thoughts?

Probably a guide to do crosshatching - using the bar gives you even spacing.

I agree. You slide the bar to the spacing you want. Then you stitch using the bar on the last row of stitching as a guide.

Don't know that I will ever be good enough to try that but I'll keep it just in case! thank you so much!

Try it on something small - table runner, tote or wallhanging - its actually easy to use.

I just started trying mine. I used it on a wall hanging. I am not real steady, but it worked real nice for me. I also have a Brother or two...
