Hi, My grown son is a VW Van restorer & loves them. He's won awards & loves all sizes from his actual 1967 to tiny 1" scale models. I want to make a VW quilt for him and I'm looking for ideas. Any ideas, suggestions or words of wisdom are all welcome. I've been quilting about 2 yrs.

My friend made this quilt (she's got a VW Bug).

You could alter it to be a VW Van front image, or profile, using great fabrics:

Found this quilt block - awesome!

I like the block above better:

Did you see the new van? Very cool.

You could do it via any method you're comfortable with - hand applique, machine applique, fusible (probably the easiest). And it's definitely within your skill set.

I think it would be fabulous.

Hello and welcome from West Virginia. If your son has pics of different VW's, maybe you could make a memory quilt using the pics printed on fabric sheets.
