I just read about Northcott NOT doing a good customer servce but the title says 'quality' .. I assumed it was 'quality' and almost didnt' read it and get the advisory that they had done a VERY POOR job of helping a customer who had spent $80 in strips and the strips are NOTthe right size ... shame on them..
BUT .. I almost missed this important information ... please help us out, expecially if it is an advisory of poor performance - fabric or business - and write your thread title carefully.
BTW - thanks to the nice person who shared her experience .. I sure am sorry that happened.

That post started out as a complaint...but then Northcott customer service came thru & resolved the issue. So the original poster requested that the title be changed to reflect that. It is tedious, but reading the entire post chronicals all of this.

Remember that topic titles CAN be changed by the posting member, so she could have indicated a problem in the original title, then added "resolved" to it.

I know you weren't talking about this but, also, if posters could title the thread sufficiently so that the readers have some inkling of the topic.

For example: A thread titled "Please Help" would be so much better if it said "Please Help with Paper Piecing". Since I don't know a thing about paper piecing, I won't spend the time on that topic.

This would also help with the Search function. A vague title won't show up when looking for something specific in Search. CMW's example of "Please Help" is good: this title will fall by the wayside. But "Please Help with Paper Piecing" would come up in search for paper piecing. The Search feature is great--but only as good as the titles we put in.

Thanks for the update ... I really thought I read all the information provided .. and am glad to hear that Northcott did in fact 'come thru'... so HOORAY for Northcott ... unfortunately, at times the service given may not fairly represent the company or it's position. I'm relieved to see that this was resolved.
BTW ... I did read through it all again and missed again about it being resolved... not meaning to 'push a point' too hard, but that does further 'push the point' that a bit more info is valuable.

I agree the topics need to be clear so people that are interested can immediately go to that topic. Vague topics are not in the best interest of the board because it is impossible to find them in the search feature. It only takes a few minutes to word them properly and it benefits everyone on this board and I feel is the courteous thing to do. Unfortunately this problem seems to never end and I wonder why the poster doesn't want to let the rest of us know what they are talking about. It can be frustrating for everyone and is such a simple matter to do.

Another thought is that people for whatever reason don't read an entire thread and keep on responding to a situation that the original poster has made. But they miss the resolution of the poster's problem also. I understand most of us don't have the time to go through numerous pages but if it was important enough to respond initially one would think they would want to continue reading to find out an outcome before they continued on with negative company bashing comments. Just my VHO.

I did not know this. How do you change the tiltle? Is there a certain amount of time to do it or something?? thanks!
