Hello from my mountain in Southwest Pennsylvania. I am so pleased to join this community of quilters. I've been sewing all my life it seems. My mother sewed for a living on a treadle; for her it was hard work but for me it was magic. When she left the machine to press or cut, I would stand on one foot and treadle with the other, at the machine sewing together little scraps from whatever she was working on. So I guess I've been piecing for about 72 of my 76 years. Nice to meet you all!

Hello and welcome from the UK. One of my most favourite memories is watching my grandmother sewing on her treadle machine. Like you, I was allowed to sew scraps and wind the bobbins.
