Looks like a model 221 Featherweight born on 4/10/1940!

WOW! <a little jealous> congratulations! Those are fantastic machines! I would invest a little more and take it to a shop that specializes in Singer repair (harder and harder to find these days) to get it cleaned up, oiled an brought up to snuff. It'll cost, but worth it to make sure you're getting the best out of a fantastic machine.

Yep, I called yesterday, It will cost me 100 dollars to get it in tip top shape, but I think it will be well worth the investment.

For cleaning and lubing your "new" FW, I suggest you get Dave McCallum's CD on caring for your machine.

If you're talking about the electrical, then I suggest taking it to a pro.

NOW you have to remember to post the first project you complete on your "new" fantastic machine - so we can see it! Have fun! enjoy!
