WE ATE AT BJ'S SEAFOOD RESTURANT NEAR CHARLESTON, SC. THE HUSH PUPPIES WERE SOOO GOOD. IF YOU FIND LADIES OF THE SOUTH HAVE THIS RECEIPE OR CLOSE TO IT. PLEASE SEND ME THE RECIEPE. LADYILENE

They are so good. Did you have the ones rolled in powdered sugar? They are to die for.

I use equal amounts self-rising flour and yellow cornmeal. Add sugar depending on how much flour and cornmeal you've used. 1 or 2 egss -- enough to make a batter.

Add chopped onions. (Sometimes I add garlic and green peppers, too.

Use two spoons to create balls. Drop in hot oil and fry until golden.

we went to eat at one of the fish camps and the cook told me she uses pancake mix and they were really good

Pardon me, but I can't imagine sweet Hush Puppies. Sounds just so strange. Grandma, a Georgia Peach by birth, made them for us, and we dipped them in yellow mustard. (Made with onions and peppers.)
