Hi,

I recently purchased an Elna eXcellence sewing machine and am loving sewing with it. I've been thinking about purchasing a quilting frame that I can use with my new Elna and would love to hear from others who've purchased a frame and how happy or not they are with the one they bought. The Elna has an 11" throat, which is bigger than what I had before, but may not be wide enough to even think of buying a frame.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Jeanne

i have a Grace Pinnacle frame and i'm thrilled with my purchase.

you can totally put an 11 inch machine on a frame.

some considerations with frames - if you live in a 4 season climate with humidity you will have to fine tune the wooden frames because wood expanses and contracts with the seasons.

also think about getting a frame that can handle king size this way you'll be able to load a quilt sideways - many quilts take up less space in the throat sideways and this will afford you more quilting space since you only have 11 inches.

also try to get a frame that can handle 15 inch throat or more - many people want to upgrade from a short arm machine to a mid or long arm because the quilting space is limited.
if you get a frame that can handle a larger machine from the beginning it would be one less thing to replace if you decide to upgrade.
