Most of you might already know this. When I was visiting a fried in Tennesse. We went to the LQS and I found apair of sicssors with no holes for your fingers. You grip it from the outside and squezze. You so don't have to fight to get those artrithic fingers in those tiny holes. On the scissors it says "Havel's 33010. Hope they all of you who might need them.

And are they spring loaded so the blades open after each cut? Sounds like just what many of us need.

Darn ... I was hoping this was a new type of scissors that only cut what you meant to cut LOL. These do sound awesome though, I'll have to check them out.

How is it for cutting through a lot of fabric?

These are mainly meant for cutting threads and small pieces of fabric. Great for an embroidery machine or for paper-piecing. I have a large pair of cutting shears that are spring-loaded and they are Fiskars and they work real well.

These are great, but don't drop them! The tip will break off :(

I Googled Havel's 33010 and the picture I saw was a pair of snips. Is this correct? If so, forget about cutting fabric. There isn't much of a blade there. I always have a pair of snips in my right hand as I'm sewing. I did have a pair of Fiskars spring loaded scissors, but there was just something about them that I didn't appreciate.

I have Fiskars SoftTouch with MicroTip spring action scissors all over the house. They're great as snips or as fabric cutting tools and handle quite a few layers of fabric - six or eight maybe?

Now I see that Fiskars makes 8" and 10" shears with spring action, too.

I do love those Havel spring snips, though. Carol Doak recommends them for paper-piecing and they do cut the top and bottom threads with the same snip, so they save you time.

If you want a pair of real miracle scissors that are extremely friendly to arthritic hands and will last you for many years just like a featherweight machine, you're going to have to spend some money and purchase a pair of KAI Professsional Series Scissors or Shears depending upon the size.
