I have never worked on a Mystery Quilt before and am having a really hard time choosing border fabrics. I usually either start with a border fabric and pull colors from that, or start with blocks and choose border fabric last. I think I am going to have to wait to make my borders.

If you are working on this BOM, what are you doing? The pictures are of the first 3 blocks.

I am also very unhappy with block #1 - the one I have in the middle. Thinking of changing it.

Polly,

You're ability to keep knocking out BOM's continues to amaze me.
Those blocks are all quite lovely.
I've done plenty of Mystery quilts but I've never heard of a BOM Mystery.

I'm curious.
Is it just that you get each month's block with no idea of the final quilt?
Is fabric included for the blocks on this one? Fabric requirements?
Or do you choose your own once you see the block image?

And free is always good.

She posts the blocks on her site each month. But no idea waht the final quilt looks like. However, since there are only 2 more months and this is the last months for blocks I guess we have a pretty good idea what it will look like.

I think I have the correct middle block and the four blocks that surround it, and there is a border between them. This month we make four more blocks which will go in the corners, and then the final border.

After thinking this through, maybe after I get this months four blocks made I can make a decision on the borders.

Yes, FREE is always good. All the BOMs I am working on are free. They all finish at different times.

I really like your BOM but the only thing I think is wrong with the center block are the 4 corner pieces in it. I love the center block but maybe if you could change the 4 corner pieces to something a bit softer as they take away from the center which I think is beautiful. How do I find her website. I would love to do this BOM. good luck to you on your borders. Lylamarie

Hi Polly!
Just wondered where you go to find all the BOMs you participate in? I've Googled free online BOMs...and found so many, I didn't know which ones to look at first. Any suggestions as to your favorites, for those of us who are looking to participate?
Thanks and have a great day!
Sue

I believe all the BOMs I am currently working on are on a site called "The Goldeen Thimble". When you get to the website, click on The Quilting Clubhouse, the scroll down to the calendar. Each day has a different free BOM.
I am working on:
Henryetta Whiskers-5th of month
Grannys Hankies 2nd St of Mo
Garden Party - 3rd Sat of mo
My Tweets - don't know date available
Hearts Desire - around the 15th
CrazyCats - ?
Fiesta - 3rd of mo

I am also working one from a LQS called Graceful Baltimore and getting ready to start working on Jinny Beyer's Summer Lillies. The pattern for Summer Lillies is free right now. Go to her website - JinnyBeyerDesign.com to find the pattern. I have posted pictures of some of these already.
