Hope the instructions above pictures are clear. . Let me know if you have any questions.
I cut my binding strips 2 1/4 in wide. If you want a wider binding, trim your batting and backing 1/2 in instead of 1/4 in and you can use a larger binding such as 2 1/2in. Hope that helps someone. Backing, batting, and quilt top Where to place ruler for cutting Leaving 1/4 in. of batting Pin binding to top of quilt. leaving batting exposed, stitch and fold over to back and stitch Other method, stitch binding to back of quilt fold over to the front Finish binding by top stitching with machine. What a tease ....... please do show us the full quilt!
I love the colours, and want to see what!! :) |
Thanks so much for your instructions. The books leave out a lot of detail. I appreciate the pics that show to cut the batting .25" beyond the border. I have read that the binding is supposed to be filled with the batting...and this is how it's done!

YES, YES, please show the whole quilt - love the colors I see!!! |
Very interesting. I have been cutting my quilt top and batting even. I did not know that you are to leave a 1/4 in. of the batting. I will have to try this on my next quilt.
