Have you noticed how the people of Joplin are all jumping in to help one another? They deserve our praise and a big round of applause. I wonder how many baby blankets they need (or youth, etc) and if any of us know where we would send them.

She is accepting donations of quilts/blankets/etc

I spoke with her yesterday. This information is also on Marie Bostwick's facebook page (she is an author of the cobbled court quilt series books). I live 35 west of Joplin and my Son and his girlfriend live in joplin. They are fine; however, prayers please as my area and the area of joplin are expecting tornadic storms again today after 6 pm!

Yes they are! this is a quilting community as well. Joanns Fabrics is gone as is several small quilt shops that were in the area.

I have the name and address of someone that lives there and works there that can be trusted to receive and distrubute any and all quilts sent to her. Just PM me for her address and I'll be more than happy to share.

I cant even imagine what these people are going thru - Can you imagine losing everything you own and no where to go? Some dont even have tranportation to get anywhere!!! I have been watching the news and its devasting!! I live in MO but thankfully we havent been hit with that kind of weather. My prayers are with them and I will certainly use this post as a means of donating thanks cheryl :thumbup:

Carthage is just north of joplin. Keep in mind mail into joplin is running slowly at this point. It is great to see there are others that are accepting donations for quilts/blankets/etc. to help the victims. All donations are blessings to any and all who receive them. Thanks for sharing about your friend Kris 2011, who is willing to help out.
