I am making a quilt of all triangles. 8" squares cut diagonally. So now at several points on the quilt I have 8 triangle points meeting in a big knot. How do you all manage that?

Poke a pin straight through all of the layers right at the junction. With the pin sticking up take 2 more pins and carefully put a pin on each side of the junction. Then carefully sew easing in extra fabric but keep that point stationary sewing straight through the point no matter whether it is 1/4 inch or not. Clear as mud? Let me know if you need pictures.

Crap, I knew I didn't sound right in my post. Sorry. Let me try again. I was able to sew through them no problem but I am worried I am going to have big bumps in the quilt after it is finished. Will that be a problem or will it turn out ok?

have you ironed them so the bulk goes away from each oher? Once quilted, they should be ok. What kind of batting did you want to use?

Just take a big hammer and smash them down. lol
Isn't that the right way to do it?
I think someone on the board mentioned mashing them down.

I know, I'm of no help. One reason why I don't like doing something like that.

If Terri's suggestion doesn't work get a bigger hammer. LOL

Or if the hammer doesn't work, try running over it with your car....
