Hi..I started quilting last year and boy do I have the bug....I am in the process of making memory quilts. The first one I have completed....used free quilting. The problem I am having is the backing. I have eight rows of eight squares 8" and have cut the backing and sewed to the top "pillow case". the backing puckered in some areas.. How can I keep this from happening.
Thanks for your help.

I'm having a hard time picturing what you are describing, could you possibly post pics?

Did you sew the backing to the top before quilting? Did you baste or pin the quilt sandwich before quilting? These are some of the things I've had issues with over the years.

I have to admit I did not pin a lot.:( I am now trying to stretch and pin the second one and this is not working ........here are a couple of pics. The the first is the back the second is the front. The quilts do not have borders. The front back and batting were stitched and then turned.

Thank you for your help.
