What are some of your childhood memories?

1. playing in the tree with my cousin, Marla with our dolls (she always wanted corn on the cob to eat at our house)

2. going to grandma and making crafts with her

3. would go with grandma to church and watched them quilt on the old big quilting frames

4. 4-H made a butter cake and got 2nd Reserve Champion

5. 4-H got champion showing Angus cattle

Wow, these sure all bring back memories.

1. being bathed in Grandma's old galvanized metal tub

2. washing dishes with grandma using two metal pans - she'd heat the rinse water on the stove - I never did get used to that hot, hot, water!

3. playing in grandma's wicker baskets - they were everywhere in her house as she did laundry for a living and used the baskets to send home the clean, ironed and folded clothes.

4. playing outdoor games with the neighborhood kids - Kick the Can, Annie, Annie Over, Freeze Tag to name a few

1. Playing baby dolls with the neighbor girl on her screened in front porch.

2. Working hoeing beans in the early part of the day then coming home and collapsing on my bed in front of an open window for a nice nap.

3. Sledding down the neighbor's hill on sleds in the winter.

4. Hunting mushrooms in the woods with my dad.

5. Meals at my great aunt and uncle's farm. She was an amazing cook and everything was from scratch.

Daily water fights with my brothers and neighbor kids to stay cool.

Playing basketball in our driveway, or baseball in the field. Our Dad's made us a back stop, shopped flea markets for all of the gear/bases, we thought we were professionals :D

Riding bikes everywhere, sunrise to sunset.

Camping trips with my family and extended family 2-3 weekends a month, every summer.

Going to work with Dad every day during the summer or picking berries/beans with all of the neighbor kids for money.

Sitting by the fire, watching Disney every Sunday evening as a family.

The big yearly family reunion every summer.

Anxiously waiting for the first snow, and hoping that school would be cancelled so we can play outside in it all day.

Having fun shopping for school clothes, trying to choose which outfit to wear the first day of school.

Saturday morning cartoons... AND how much more exciting they were when we got our first color tv :D

We spent most of our free time outdoors, we could make a game out of anything. Our imaginations were our only limits.
