I just found this site and am anxious to see what all is on here.
I have been quilting off and on for years. I hand quilt and machine quilt. Currently, I have 2 quilts that I have started to hand quilt, which I need to finish. One of them was made by my grandmother, while the other was made by me. We have a group in Florida that hand quilts, but I can only do it so long on a frame or my back hurts. If I could quilt longer on it, I would put mine in there and have them completed. I love to quilt on my lap, but it gets hot. How do most of you quilt, or do most of you machine quilt or have them quilted by machine? |
Welcome neighbor! I love to hand quilt but I also love to machine quilt and have both a large three rail racheting hand quilting frame that I keep in my family room and a longarm in my quilting studio. I also love to hand quilt with a lap hoop in my lap. I always have a quilt on both frames and a couple in hoops all at the same time. No room for boredom that way LOL

Greetings from New Hampshire.
I gave up hand quilting years ago - takes too long for me (75 yrs. old) I'll machine quilt myself anything up to a small lap. All other quilts go to a fellow SooNipi Guild member who does fabulous work. |
