The lift is a mechanism that you install in your sewing machine cabinet. It allows you to raise and lower the machine by simply pressing on it. Its a good idea becasue you can lower the machine which frees up workspace and keeps your machine clean, and allows you to raise the machine either level with the cabinet top for easier sewing, or raise it up so that you can change your boobbin easily or set a sleeve.
