Can anyone help me to use up the 4" squares? I see patterns for the 5" but never something made up with the 4" cham squares. I have quite a lot that I bought over the years and don't know the best way to use them other than just piecing them together. Thanks in advance.
Also, some of you asked about my picture with the kitty. I was fortunate enough to go into the enclosure with two cheetas and have pictures taken in South Africe this year.

I would think you could do the 1/2 square triangles with them as easily as you can the 5" squares. They would just trim out a little smaller.

Yes, that I could do, but I was hoping someone could help me to make something more interesting with them. I do appreciate your suggestion though, and may end up doing what you have kindly suggested.

Maybe you can find s-g on Bonnie Hunter's http://www.quiltville.com. She has beautiful scrappy quilt tutorials, I've made a couple and they turned out fine even with my advanced beginner skills. As she uses squares and triangles and strips, sizes could easily be adjusted

Whatever yo do with the 5" you can also do with the 4". It is always nice to make some lovely placemats without having to cut them. Make quite a few and have them on hand to use as a lovely gift for someone.

i don't see why you couldn't do pretty much anything you can do with a 5" square- it would just be smaller- take more to get the same size- other than that- a square is a square-
i've used charm patterns and 9" squares

I have done the "10 minute block" with 4" and also the quick & ez pinwheels.

When I am altering a block size and are unsure of what the outcome will be, I will take colored paper...cut the strips/blocks the finished size (no seam allowances and play with the layout.

I made a cute baby quilt with 4" charms. None of them really matched. I put a very large border all the way around and that tied it all together. On my sons I used a dark navy and on the gift I used a dk purple with tiny white pola dots.
