I purchased an Aurora 440 with V5 software but cannot get the EC on PC to work on my Win7 laptop....after being online with the support staff today who took over my laptop they told me I need to update my sewing machine firmware..has anyone else had this problem because one lady told me her tech gave up on her unit.

Welcome to the board from Southern California!

I have a 630 with the V5 editor lite. I could never get any help with it either and since embroidery wasn't my first priority i never did get it up and running or figured out how to use. I bought Explorations but refuse to spend $1,000 on updated software!

I don't know about your Aurora but; welcome from W TX!

You were not on the phone with Bernina people right? Honestly, I am not an expert on embroidery, but I do have an employee who is. I know its pretty simple to have your 440 updated. These machines have been out for quite sometime and have not had a new update for a long time. I'd be a little surprised if it was never updated...but its possible. If you don't get an answer here. We will be able to help you. Tomorrow, or certainly soon according to my staff availability!

Welcome from another 440 owner in Chicago! Wish I could help you, but I don't embroider. I don't think my brain could hold that whole additional body of knowledge (software, stabilizer, threads, hooping...). If I tried to learn, I'm afraid either a language or life-saving knowledge would fall out, and I can't afford to lose either. Good luck, I'm sure someone here can help. Do join the Bernina Land and Bernina Aurora yahoo groups also.
