Hi, guys! I am struggling with this. I bought a case with 6 class 15 bobbins that I read somewhere that were ideal for my 15-91, but they are slightly small and won't fit. I can't find anywhere what is the exact type of bobbin I need or where to find it.
Somebody can help me with this, please?? :roll: :-( |
I bought mine at my local Singer store. They are flat on both sides and are metal.

But do they have a different class? I bought some that look like the adequate ones, but they are only slightly smaller. You just notice the difference when you try to put them on.

Mine uses the class 15 bobbin.

I bought a box of 100 bobbins and gave half to my friend who has a Bernina and I have the others to use in my Singer 15-91. The one that was in the machine when I got it has a notch on the inner ring and 1 small hole to the outside. The ones I purchased has 11 holes around the ring and a notch on the inside. will send a picture of them.

The one I bought has 10 holes on it and so does the one that came with the machine. The only visible difference is that the holes on the ones I purchased are a little smaller. Out of that they don't seem different in size. The new one just won't fit in the winder. I don't understand what can be wrong...

It seems like the problem can be the brand of the bobbin, but I am scared to buy new ones of a different brand and the same class 15 and get them wrong again.

If the sides of the bobbin aren't perfectly parallel, they won't fit right or fill on the bobbin winder, even though they'll work in the machine.
There are a lot of wobbly-sided bobbins when you buy the kind with 10 holes in them. The solid-sided ones don't seem to have that problem. If you buy from dealers like sew-classic.co, I know that she keeps an eye on the supplies as they come in and if she catches bad batches, she sends them back to the vendors. My Lady Kenmore runs best when I use the heavier solid sided class 15's, so I bought a bunch of them and I use them in my 15-91's now, too. Between the extra weight and the Magic Genie Bobbin Washers, they just seem a lot smoother. :) |
