My Bernina 180 sews beautifully. However, it makes a high pitched whine. I've used the machine a lot and it performs well but I would love to know why the noisy high pitched sound.

Call you dealer, they should be able to help. How long has it been since you have had it serviced? I do mine at least once a year.

the dealer suggested a drop of oil in the hook area. Not the problem. I do that regularly. The dealer doesn't think it is anything to be concerned about. I guess he is right because it keeps on sewing. Love using the machine. Wish it wasn't so noisy.

my mom's bernina 830 is starting to get a little noisy, even when serviced and oiled. Everyone says they're supposed to be super quiet, but it's been like that since I can remember so I just turn the music up a little louder and keep quilting!
