I'm ready to give this a go. I Never get a full nights sleep . Last night ,rather , morning I finally fell asleep 4:30 ish am !!!! Curious to know if anyone has tried melatonin and if they were able to sleep better and or any side effects I should be aware of !! Thank you, you are always sooooo helpful.

No side effects at all. 3 mg 30 minutes before bed works well. If that doesn't do it, add valerian, but be forewarned it smells terrible.

I tried it years ago, but it didn't help me at all.

My dh used to use it - worked for him.

I have tried melatonin - woke with a headache and felt hung over. Have also tried Valerian - it worked for a while but then I guess my body got used to it so it doesn't have the effect any more. Guess each person is different and you will have to try them for yourself to see if they work.
I too, lay awake sometimes until 3 - 4 a.m. but when I do wake, I feel more rested than if I had taken something to help me sleep.

It never worked for me.
BTW my grandmother used one or two tablespoons of raw honey and unfiltered ACV (apply cider vinegar) at bedtime. She swore by it.

I use Melatonin. I get it chewable from Trader Joes. It tastes great. But, it does not always work. I have not slept well for the last week. Took some Ambien for a few nights but I do not want to become dependent on it. Last three nights I have just "dozed" Finally got sleep after 4:30 am as well. I am tired. Tonight may have to be an Ambien night, I can't do this too many nights in a row!!!

Notice that she used raw honey and unfiltered apple cider vinegar. I suppose the reg. stuff you get in the grocery might work but maybe it's the minerals etc in the raw form that made it work?
