Looking for pattern ideas. we have friends that are getting married. i was going to make them a quilt as a wedding gift. She loves earth tones he loves hunting fishing etc. Was looking for patterns that would fit both. Some of the patterns I've seen of course stars or those that have the tree pattern etc. may fit both especially with her color choices. Any ideas, I know that he would not like the double ring it would be to girly as he would put it.
Thanks,
Tracy

I would buy a fabric that he would love for the backing and then make a pattern with earthtones for her. then the quilt is reversible. what about a bargello quilt?

As usual, Log Cabin comes to mind. It is very versatile and can be done in earth tones. I am currently finishing one that is done in greens and beiges, set in the star variation, and the centre 4 blocks have little stars in the home square. You could always use fishing material as backing and matching pillowcases.

I wouldn't want a quilt for my bed that has fishing pictures on it. IMHO Anything with browns and maybe gold is pretty masculine. From my perspective, men don't care how the bedroom is decorated as long as it is not all ruffles and lace. JMHO
