This is so pretty that I can envision trying to make a wall hanging out of this photo.
Soon, I'll have about 30 of them popping open all at once. They are just magnificent. And this one is about 8" in diameter. |

and a great pic too. I have enjoyed them for the first time this year too ... planted them amidst my Morning Glory vines. If I remember correctly, they are from the same family? |
I have some of them and they are great for keeping insects away. I have them at the back door and have not been bothered with flies or mosquito this year. I plan to plant them around the crape myrtles next year so maybe the Japanese beetles won't ruin them again. They are very poison.
