Does anyone have a Singer? I need a new machine and money is really tight. This is a bit under $500. I don't think you can get it in the stores anymore, but online its available. Any remarks would be helpful!

Do a search here using the search feature above. Personally, I have quite a few vintage Singer machines, but I would never spend a cent on a new Singer.

I have a Singer Quantum 3400XL that was made for the 150th anniversary in 2001. It's a nice machine, but I can't free motion quilt on it unless I cover up the feed dogs. I got a second machine for free motion quilting. The Singer is great for apparel sewing, zippers, does a little embroidery, and buttonholes are pretty easy. No service problems with it and I bought it new.

I have a Singer Quantum 9940 but it is just a sewing machine not an embrodiery machine. I've had it for about 4 years and have had no problems with it at all.

This is the second Singer 9960 machine I have gotten that has the same problems. It jammed and now will not work. The lights are on but noone is home. Help!
