My husband made me a large side by side compost bin / potato box a couple of years ago that was actually featured in Mother Earth News. Well, this year I was busy and didn't get around to shifting it out. There was a bumper crop of Roma and Cherry tomatoes that popped up on their own as well as some cucumber plants. I decided to let them be. Then ... a big old squash plant started growing. I had no idea what it would be. Maybe a pumpkin? Today I was pulling out the spent plants and came across this monster! Still don't know what it is. Maybe spaghetti squash?

Looks like an overgrown zucchini.

Looks like some zucchini I found in my moms garden one year. Everybody I knew got several! LOL!

Who knows,matbe you crossed a zucchin and cucumber and made something new!

Zuchini on steroids. Maybe peel the outer layer off and use the inner to make a bread? I used to make rellish with monters like this that people would give me.

Aren't compost great !!

We get volunteers all the time & they do better than the bought plants.
