I bought a bottle of the Niagara non-aerosol spray starch a while back at Wal-Mart. I just got around to trying it. The one I bought says that it is "fresh linen scent", and there was another one with a lavendar scent. The ads say that the scent dissipates after ironing...

Well, the smell was so strong I had to leave the room, and now I can still smell it on my hands, even though I washed them. I checked the fabric that I sprayed and ironed, and I don't smell it anymore there, so it does appear to dissipate after ironing.

Has anyone found this product in an unscented version? I looked online, but didn't find it there. I checked the web site of the manufacturer, and sent them an email of inquiry (and complaint about the smell). It seems to do a good job on the fabric, but why does the manufacturer think it needs a "fragrance" added? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I have the lavender scent and I don't think the smell is strong.

I looked at both, and thought "fresh linen" sounded like less of a scent than lavendar, because I didn't think linen should smell like much at all. Maybe I'll give the lavendar a try.

I love the smell but I guess it would make sense to make an unscented version for those sensitive to it.

I just used my new bottle this morning, and have to agree that the fragrance is quite strong at first but it does go away fairly quickly. The "fresh linen scent" only brought back good memories for me. I remember that smell from when my mom would starch the laundry, especially the bed linens that were then hung out on the line to dry in the sunshine.
Now everybody knows how old I am!!

Don't. I think the lavendar is much worse than the linen. I've also been looking for unscented.

I haven't seen unscented. It's still better that Best Press, which makes me cough every time I try to use it!

I love the fresh linen scent. Hope you can find some non-aerosol starch that is unscented.
