I am new to the forum. Last week my wife decided to make receiving blankets for our daughters baby shower. We made the blankets 36" X 36" and serged the edges. I was looking at the pile of selvage that was cut off and decided to make a quilt out of them.
I have only made one other quilt so I went searching for a pattern. One kind soul on this forum posted a link to free patterns: http://www.quiltsforkids.org/pattern...quilt-pattern/ At the suggestion of the sales lady at JoAnne's, I put fleece in as batting. It made the quilt unbelievably soft and warm. Start to finish, started 10 AM, finished 10 PM. Not bad for a bunch of scraps! Joe. the big picture Details squares, notice borders are different, not enough scraps to make same border.
